A Beautiful Spring Day at the Bio Park

Today, we saw the beautiful spring flowers

at the Albuquerque Botanical Garden. What a beautiful day for flowers and fountains!

I thought I saw turtles in the pond.

Then, I realized that the turtles were bronze!

There were a lot of pots of different flowers.

We went to

Sasebo Japanese Garden

and continued our spring discoveries.

I loved the waterfall!

And the bridge...

...and the Japanese sculptures.

Onto Heritage Farm....

Here chickens....

We ended up our trip in the greehouse.

It was hot and humid in there, but look at the flowers!

Happy Spring!!!!

Snow Day

Timothy's last attempt to go sledding
was on December 31st.
It was a failed attempt due to the lack of snow.
This morning started with a light dusting of snow
and too much ice for the school buses to make their rounds.
The snow kept falling, and a snow day was called.
We had just put the hat, scarf, and sled away.
Timothy reminded me of where his things were,
and gathered them up again.
I gave him 3 minutes in the snow.
He went sledding, posed for photos,
and rolled in the snow.

There is no figuring out a mouse.

The Last Day

I have finally come to the end of my Christmas Break.
Timothy wanted to know if there was anything left to do
before I return to work tomorrow.
"Take my picture! I'm so cute!
Do you know any jokes?
I promise I'll laugh!"

"I'm bored!
Are you serious?"

"There really is nothing left to do?"

New Year's Sledding

Mikayla and Timothy have been waiting for 2 days to go sledding.
It snowed yesterday,
and today's temperatures have been below freezing
all day.
These two determined souls just had to give it a try. Timothy:
Hey, the sled is stuck. Isn't it supposed to slide?

I'm heavier than you are!
Let me give it a try!

Maybe it will work if I give you a push!

You aren't supposed to push me off the sled!

Happy New Year!
May all your wishes come true!

Going to the Zoo...

Christmas Vacation is ticking away,
so we decided to go to the zoo today! We saw all the animals out on exhibit.
Our first stop was the seals and sea lions.

Then we headed next door to Australia.
Three new Tasmanian wombats just arrived
at the beginning of the month,
but they were not in their enclosure!
We decided to try again later.

So back to the polar bears.

They must be enjoying the cooler December temperatures,
except all of our photos seem to have them resting on the rocks.

We love giraffes!

This one walked right up to us,
and asked if we had any food for it.

The orangutans were pretty special, too.
This is the patriarch.

And there was a mixed breed orangutan
with beautiful red fur!

Baby Reese came out to play
and nibble on the treats in the newspaper.

There was another female who cared for Reese.

Isn't she cute!

The Mexican Wolves, the lobos,
paced around.
Do you see both wolves?

Wouldn't you hate to be Little Red Riding Hood
meeting a wolf in the forest?

The lion woke up from his nap,
stretched and roared,
and returned to his nap.

Can we see if the wombat is out?
There he is!!!!

He trotted around....

and played with his stuffed companion!

We saw all the animals.
